Get ready for this Blog’s Top Story in the First Eleven Minutes…
Here in Silicone Valley we have a wealthy NBC affiliate, KNTV, Channel-11 (except, of course, on Comcast where it is Channel-3) and they are out to bring all their viewers the Top Stories in the First Eleven Minutes.
Remember: this is going to be Tonight’s Top Stories in the First Eleven Minutes.
Apparently they brought in an ad agency who got the bright idea to advertise Tonight’s Top Stories in the First Eleven Minutes every chance they get because Tonight’s Top Stories in the First Eleven Minutes on the eleven o’clock evening news would be so catchy and cute. But, after you keep hearing about Tonight’s Top Stories in the First Eleven Minutes 24/7/366 plus every time you go to the bathroom, it does get sort of like squeaking your fingernails down a chalkboard.
Remember, that was Tonight’s Top Stories in the First Eleven Minutes.

As you may know, KNTV underwent a major format change just before the summer 2008 Olympic games. It re-branded from “NBC 11 News” to “NBC Bay Area News.” The odd thing is the station continued the “first eleven minutes” saying at the beginning of the 11:00 p.m. newscast, yet now they run commercials during part of the first eleven minutes. Do those commercials count as “top stories”?
